The Doors Of Perception

“If the doors of perception were cleansed every thing would appear to man as it is, infinite. For man has closed himself up, till he sees all things through narrow chinks of his cavern.”

This quote blames man for all that has happened to him as he has closed himself off from the world. He has decided that he wants to live in his cavern. The very use of the word “cavern” is a reference to Platos analogy of the cave to describe how man is conditioned to see the world
in which he lives.

Its true, we are conditioned to view the world in a particular way. We’re also conditioned to accept changes to this view. Jacques Ellul was correct is stating that humans cannot be freer than when they are born into this world. As soon after birth the conditioning starts. I think there are processes of both natural and unnatural conditioning. There are many possible arguments for both in many different scenarios. Conditioning is the process of binding the human mind to set of behaviors which guarentee a degree of success in their environment. Couple these with the survival instinct and powerful behaviour patterns emerge which will override others given the correct stimulation.

Using Plato’s analogy, there are many more exits in his cave. Many traps too. Man is a social being and therefore can be mislead very easily. If you can fool one man, you can fool a million.

There is only one drummer.

The innocent people who live in a territory called Iran are targeted. Little do they know that in a matter of years their lives will be torn apart like the millions of their neighbours in the territory called Iraq. This time it won’t be the USA attacking them but another foreign power who fooled its people into dying for them by telling them there is a glorious after-life awaiting them.

Why does history repeat itself? Is there some formula that is being applied here?

I know there is.

Its important to look at both sides of the equation. What is being said in the Iranian press? If you were to go by the www.iran-daily.com it looks like they want this fight. The same sort of propaganda is being applied to the Iranians. Why is this? To me this is “war making”. After all a war needs sides.

On the whole, people do not have problems with people in other countries. I think its horrendously sad that the Iraq invasion was solely to get rid of its leader Saddam. Yet millions of Iraqi natives are displaced for one man? Millions have died for one man. What stopped the millions who let this happen from seeing this? If you have a problem with one man. Just go after that man - not his fellow natives. It would be naive of me to follow this path as this was never the point of invading Iraq to being with. Situations like this need an excuse and Saddam was that excuse for invading Iraq.

In western press it is obvious that Iran’s leader is being targetting. All of Iran (from new born babies to their wise elders) will suffer and he will be blamed as the western world lets this happen. The blood of all innocents is on the hands of the people who let it happen by not getting involved.

From France & Israel to the USA and Iran. The drum beat is getting louder. The spin-docters are gearing up to create public opinion by way of “opinion polls” and “vox-pops”. If you use your head and think you’ll see this. Your opinion is being manufactured and because you think its yours you’ll think its correct. Question where your opinions come from and what makes impressions on you. Then you’ll start to the drummer.

There is only one drummer.

The Tavistock Connections

Just to be clear, I do not actively seek out information like the following.
I don’t need to as with a little digging this can be found easily for anybody with intent.

I read in the morning rag (Irish Hearld AM) that Lady Thatcher visited Primister Brown in Number 10 yesterday.
The point of the article was to say that Browne has launched a new advertising campaign produced by the same company “which masterminded Margaret Thatcher’s three election victories”. That advertising company is called Saatchi Saatchi (or M&C Saatchi Today). The Tavistock connection is that the previous Business Director of this company now is a Professional Associate at the Tavistock Institute. He was also educated at the Tavistock Institute London.

Educating the masses

Not an extra-ordinary day by any means.
I am on my afternoon 15 minute break from work and still sitting at my desk.

I think the entire idea around the fifteen minute break must have come from the top as they would have done studies to show that continuous work would result in poor performance when people get tired and start to make mistakes. So the cost of fixing these mistakes would far out weight the price of having each employee take a fifteen minute break in the morning
and in the afternoon. This also includes the fact that people need to eat so they get a lunch hour chucked in for good measure!

Its courious that the lunch hours is not really enforced in the working environment. The same can be said for the two 15 minute breaks. Sure, you’ll hear a manager every now and then saying its lunch time. Generally because they have gotten the same conditioning as everybody else.

The very practise of wearing watches on your wrist gets its origin from the industrial revolution. Factory owners needed people to work for them, so they engineered the situation where people had to come into the cities and large towns to get work. They would generally end up in large dirty factories working 18 and up hours a day. Basically slaves.

People at that time didn’t have a need to keep the time as they generally did not need to be keep a schedule. The result of this is was they were constantly late for work. Again industrial factory owners pulled a few chains which resulted in the next generation of factory works being taught how to read the time in school. This ensured that every generation would be punctual just the way the big Bosses needed them.

In fact a lot of what we were taught in schools has to do with how we are needed in society for industry. I’ve read from university sources that alot of courses are actually sponsered by local industry. Depending on the amount of funding they can just about dictate to the course boards what should be taught. This is all based on what they think they will need in the next coming years. Very clever.

There a lot more sinister reasons too, but I want to keep this post light hearted so I’ll save that for another time. For those who would like to know now, get hold of Educational books from Bertrand Russel and Julian Huxley (founder of UNESCO).

Education does not stop at the schools either. All media goes towards educating en mass.
The big media players are TV, Internet and pring media such as newspapers and magazines.

The next time you buy a newspaper or magazine, examine it from the view that it is trying to educate you. See what happens to you view point. Alot of people today do not critical examine the information which they read. Take fiction for
example. I’ve often heard people describe films as “brain candy” whereby you sit and are just entertained. This type of entertainment should be critical examined as it is a well know fact that when you enjoy something you tend to remember it better. What does that mean for entertaining fiction which we consume? It means that we take on board the various messages that are contained in the entertainment. This does have an effect on your behavior.

So be careful of the information you and yours consume as it does have an effect on you especially when you are being entertained. I’ll leave you with a quotation:

“Everybody gets so much information all day long that they lose their common sense.”
– Gertrude Stein (1874 - 1946)

But what is common sense?

Tavistock Institute of Human Relations

I obtained a copy of Dr. John Colemans work on the Tavistock Institute of human relations and have justĀ  completed by first pass of the book. There is some very interesting points raised in the book.

However, I do not agree with all that he has written. I will give a full summary of the text on my the main sites page dedicated to this institute in the coming days.

The book itself has some of the best references for behavior control and I have already purchased a number of them for further research.

An interesting link I came across whilst looking up one of the sources was this from Cabinet Magazine.

I strongly recommend that you have a read of this article and really think about the times which are mentioned and ponder the possible developments since.

“The Family Is No Longer Private” - Karen Kiernan, Oneparent.ie

I had to run an errand today on my lunch hour. After I was finished that, I decided to have a bite to eat in a cafe near by. Whilst there, I picked up a copy of todays Irish Times.

As usual, I head straight for the World News section, to get an idea of what the Irish Times thinks we should know about. I follow this by going to the Opinion & Analysis section to see what people will be talking about tomorrow. (cynical…I’ve been told)

I read a very interesting article about how parents today need support when raring their children. Traditionally, this support would come from other family members, but now since we have
different forms of families we need a communal approach to providing support.

The part of this article that really shocked me is that this group oneparent.ie actually stated that the in todays society, the family “is no longer private”. Please, please think about this statement. Take a surreal approach to it if necessary and see what you come up with.

How is the family no longer private? Is it down to the proximity to our neighbors? Can they see in the kitchen window? Or is it the fact they we now have to rely on strangers to bring up our offspring in creches and schools?

If there is every a chance that Karen Kiernan of Oneparent.ie reads this post, please comment with an explanation to what you mean by this. I would be fascinated to know.

I agree with Karen that lone parents do need a good support system so they can get on with their lives and provide for their children. However, I do not agree that we should call on the government to provide this as they are the cause of such problems in the first instance. If you don’t believe me about this, please read a book by Lord Bertrand Russell called the Impact of Science on Society (1953)

I sincerely hope that people who read this rag do not take this opinion as fact as often the case in the society.

Tavistock - Some Research

I’ve heard some interesting things about this particular think tank. These claims suggest they are the main sources of all propaganda being hurled at the globe today. I would like to know more about them, so I’ve decided to do some research into their history and activities.

I’ve a section on my main site (YamdaBlam!) dedicated to discoveries about this group. I totally welcome any information anybody has out there in relation to them and their activities.

A quick google search pulls up a number of interesting links in relation this Tavistock, so I’ll be following up on them to see what source information is available to me.

Until then..

Another Day In The Empire

Welcome and hello. Thanks for stopping by.

This is my new blog on YamdaBlam!

Whats this all about I hear you say?

Well….to start I’ve always wanted to get my own proper blog up and running. I’ve tried to do it in the past with various incarnations but to no avail. They have been left to rot in cyberspace.

Now, since I am paying for this, I know it will be updated on a regular basis.

What will I be blogging about?

This blog is primarily to further the topics which are covered on YamdaBlam!

My interests these days are mainly concerned with both the historic and present forces driving our world today. Forces that result in the educational system our children are in, the programmes which people watch and the mass events which we become witness to or are involved in.

You can probably guess what some of the topics I’ll be touching on are:

  • Education
  • Media
  • Society
  • Government
  • Shadow Governments
  • War
  • Technology
  • History
  • Economics
  • Psychology and behaviorism.

There are a select few foundations and organisations which have a vested interest in each of these areas and how they apply to the human condition. Ultimately I want to highlight how we as human beings are being manipulated on a daily basis.
Most importantly, I wish to get you involved via comments and contributions and arguments.

Talk to you soon!
